Named for Kievs central square that became the theatre of pro-EU, anti-government demonstrations in late 2013 and the situations escalation when protesters were fired upon, leading to the deaths of more than 100 people this series of portraits by Émeric Lhuisset brings us to February 2014 and in contact with the faces of the revolution. Although anchored in a specific time and context, the series conveys a shared, universal sense of hope. Whether in the eyes of a young nurse or an elderly Cossack, one can read the same determination and commitment. Together with brief interviews written in six languages, each portrait on newspaper print is a testimony to recent history.
